Try to prepare this at home during quarantine as it’s our favourite: Chicken Sizzler and Chicken Hakka Noddles

Chicken Sizzler

It takes only 55 minutes to prepare and contains only 175 calories!

Sizzlers were hugely popular in Japan and then they travelled all the way to America and reached France in World War 2. The idea behind it is to serve food hot by making it crisp on the outside and keeping it moist on the inside. That could only happen as long as the dish was cooking and just 2 minutes after it was taken out to serve. So the idea of a hot, cooking plate came in. but thinking that sizzlers can only be limited to restaurants would be wrong. You can also make them at home. Now if you have a sizzler tray or an iron skillet or plate, you can serve the dish in that otherwise, it tastes pretty good on simple plates too. So, to begin cooking this delicious and healthy meal

All you need is-

2 chicken breasts

1 tablespoon garlic

1/2 cup rice

Black pepper as required 

1/4 cup onion 

2 green chilli 

5 cabbage leaves

1/2 cup red bell pepper 

1/2 cup green bell pepper 

2 tablespoon virgin olive oil 

1 tablespoon lemon juice 

Salt as required 

1/3 cup mushroom 

1 carrot

1 tomato 

1/2 cup water

HOW TO PREPARE 

Soak the rice and marinate the chicken 

To begin, wash and soak the rice in water for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the chicken breast into two pieces and pound it lightly until a little flatter and marinate with lemon juice, black pepper, red chilli powder, salt for at least 30 minutes.

Cook the rice and saute the veggies

While the chicken gets marinated, cook the rice. Add 1 1/2 cups of water for 1/2 cup rice and let them boil for 10 minutes. On the other hand, take a pan and add some oil into it. Saute the garlic and then add thickly diced bell peppers and capsicum. Charr them on a high flame and add the salt and pepper.

Cook the chicken 

Now take the marinated chicken and add it to hot oil in a pan. Let it cook thoroughly on all sides for about 5 -10 minutes on medium-low flame. Meanwhile, add 1 tbsp of oil in another pan and cook the garlic in it and add the onions to it. Assemble everything on a hot platter and serve!

Chicken Hakka Noodles 

It will only take 30 minutes of your time and contains only 314 calories.

A bowl of full of warm, freshly made noodles can turn your whole day upside down if you had been having a bad one. While we do not leave any chance of getting yourself a large serving of noodles every time we visit a Chinese restaurant, it happens most of the time that we crave for it the most when we know we can’t get it. So, to get over times like those and to polish your cooking skills, here is an easy and oh-so-delicious recipe for homemade Chicken Hakka Noodles. 

All you need is-

250 grams egg noodles 

1 tablespoon garlic

1/2 cup onion

1 tablespoon spring onion whites

2 tablespoon carrot

2 tablespoon capsicum 

4 tablespoon cabbage

100 gram shredded chicken 

2 teaspoon soy sauce 

2 teaspoon green chilli sauce

1 teaspoon red chilli sauce 

1 teaspoon vinegar

Black pepper as required 

Salt as required 

1 handful spring onion leaves

HOW TO PREPARE 

Boil the chicken and noodles

You can also choose to marinate the chicken chunks in salt and pepper, cook them in some hot oil and keep them aside. Another method is boiling the chicken for about 15 minutes on medium to low flame and then shredding it into thin slices using two forks.

Boil the noodles

Boil some water in a pot and add 1 tbsp of salt in it. Now add the noodles and let them cook for just about 2 minutes or 80% before they are done.

Heat oil and cook veggies

Add some oil in a pan and garlic to the pan. Now, add onions, green chillies, white portions of spring onions and roast them in the pan for about a minute. Now add all the remaining veggies like carrots, cabbage and capsicum and stir nicely.

Add the sauces, noodles, stir and serve

Add the sauces and boiled chicken to the wok and mix everything together. Now add in your boiled Hakka egg noodles and season with some salt and pepper. Toss nicely without breaking any noodles. Garnish with spring onion greens and serve!
