‘Mama Mia’ was what our verdict was on a delish, late Saturday night mood or summery Sunday brunch at Mia Cucina. With cocktails that rejuvenate you from the humid heat of Mumbai to light yet flavourful brunch options, this place is a must visit on a Saturday/ Sunday. The live band just like the food is sure to blow your socks off. Brunching done right we kept is simple for our brunch at Mia Cucina which is located in a popular shopping area in Bandra. As we sipped on our Mango Collins, a potent yet refreshing cocktail we couldn’t help but notice the vivacious mood of the place.
The live band was on in full swing and the stand out was the melodious voice of the singer. As we seeped it all in our Pizza Verdura was on the table and it looked oh so good! Topped with roasted vegetables, olives, jalapeno and just the right amount of mozzarella, we deem it one of the best pizzas in the city. We also picked a Tortino Di Verdura E Piatto from their Sunday Piatto section and went crazy after their amazing croissant. Fresh and crispy, this croissant was made by angels in the kitchen of Mia Cucina who also made the luscious herbed butter to go along with it. Once we had recovered from our obvious foodgasm we also enjoyed the vegetarian patty, which is their specialty on a Saturday night, potato wedges, a lovely salad and sauteed vegetables on the platter.
An image of a plane in motion and a natural feel to the place with sunlight pouring in through the big windows and indoor plants makes it stand out. We noticed that it offers an interesting spread from salads to stone baked pizzas, homemade pastas, meats braised in signature wines and char-grilled fish. Some of the contributions from the very Italian menu are Insalata Gorgonzola, Pizza Quattro Formaggio, Zucchini Ripiene, Pollo Alla Griglia, Tonno Fresco al Pomodori, and Italian Sodas to go along with it.
The Caesar Salad with Romaine, home-made croutons, parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing set a delicious tone to our meal ahead. Among the best was the Pizza Verdura Pizza with roasted veggie, black olives, jalapenos, parmesan, and mozzarella. We loved the Tagliatelle al Mascarpone e Spinaci which infused Home-made pasta, spinach and mascarpone cheese sauce in a scrumptious and nuanced manner.
The place does a mean Lasagna Tricolore. The baked pasta, spinach, artichoke, cherry tomato, parmesan sauce can win over even the most disgruntled taste buds. Going to the Dolci, the Blueberry Cheesecake is what dessert dreams are made of. We relished the authentic flavours of this gastronomical paradise and we were sure we’d be back soon visiting this place. With great interiors, lip-smacking food and a nice vibe, we are surely rooting for this one!
